They have been instrumental in organizing various activities in the areas of Girl Child Education, Health, Environment, and Rural Development in India.
I would like to share a few highlights and I welcome you to join the ongoing initiatives.
Essential kits for special needs kids at RIMRS institute
Anuta networks along with our NGO partner, sponsored basic needs for kids at RIMRS Institute for the Mentally Handicapped located at Palamaner, Chittoor (Dt), AP. We distributed stationary, bed-sheets, toys and a few essential supplies. We had a very lively interaction with the kids as we participated in many fun group activities. It was a truly humbling experience to watch how happy the kids were despite the difficult circumstances. It goes without saying that on that day, the kids had more to offer us than we had to offer them.
Empowering women of KGBV
The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya or KGBV is a residential girls’ secondary school run by the Government of India for the weaker sections in the society. At Anuta, we strongly believe in empowering women as it not only impacts their lives but also their families.
Anantapur district is one of the most backward districts in Andhra Pradesh. It is severely impacted by drought which could last for years causing severe stress on the economy and especially agriculture. This has led families to migrate to nearby cities in search of jobs. In search of work, the father or both parents leave their kids behind with their mother or grandparents. The economic condition of these families is extremely poor. In such dire circumstances, children’s education, especially for the girl child, takes a back seat. Adding to the villager’s woes is bad transport facilities. In some remote areas, kids have to travel 10-15 km to attend school.
KGBVs have come as a boon for the girl child, especially in this district. We found that most of the girl students in these schools are either dropouts or kids of single parents that couldn’t pursue their studies due to financial constraints.
Since 2012, Anuta networks has been actively involved in the betterment of KGBV and other Government Primary schools. We have undertaken many major activities to improve the living and studying conditions.
Books and Stationery Distribution
At the start of the academic year, We distributed study kits to primary school students (classes 1 – 5). The kit included a school bag, notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers and a few other essential study materials. Anuta Networks sponsors such kits for 500+ students in a year.
Plantation Drives
We start plantation drives at the onset of monsoon season. We have so far sponsored around 2000+ saplings and gardening equipment at various KGBV’s, government schools and villages.
Examination kits
Some of the examinations centers for 10th Grade, do not have proper facilities. Lack of proper stationery, broken desks and scarcity of chairs are common issues in these centers. In our modest effort to improve the condition, Anuta Networks sponsors examination kits for the 10th Grade students. The kits include a writing pad, pencils & pens, erasers, sharpeners, geometry sets, and a few other stationery.
Study Guides for 10th Grade students
10th Grade examinations are very important for students. The scores on these exams strongly influence admissions to colleges and career choices. Anuta Networks has been sponsoring 10th Grade study guides to the girls at KGBVs and some of the government schools to help them understand the concepts and excel at 10th Grade examinations.
Water Tanks, R.O. Purifiers and Electric Motors
In our effort to reduce water-borne diseases, Anuta Networks sponsors drinking water storage tanks, R.O water purifiers and electric motors at schools.
Lunch Plates
Some of the KGBV schools did not have proper lunch plates. Anuta sponsored lunch plates to such schools.
Winter Clothing – Blankets, Floormats, Ear Caps
Anuta Networks has been sponsoring winter clothing such as Woollen Blankets, Floormats, Ear Caps etc at various KGBV schools, old age homes, orphanages, and roadside needy people.
Vocational Training – Sewing machines
Anuta Networks sponsored new sewing machines and repaired existing ones which are used to provide vocational training to girl students at various schools.
Sanitation Improvements
Providing good sanitary conditions and improving health conditions is one of our primary motives. Anuta Networks has been actively involved in renovating restrooms at various government schools.
