Cisco Live Milan 2015

We had a great experience as we joined more than 8,000 attendees at Cisco Live Milan. The show floor was abuzz with many vendors showcasing their solutions for Cisco’s customers.

Customers are still struggling with legacy networks consisting of multi-vendor devices and are concerned about delays in provisioning network services. They realize that network automation and orchestration is a critical component of their service delivery. Customers liked that Anuta NCX network service orchestrator supports legacy, NFV, and SDN networks with built-in service design and uses industry’s standard YANG language for device and service models.

At this show, we demonstrated NCX 4.0 with following enhancements:

OpenStack Support: NCX provides the ability to provision end-to-end L2-L7 network services on multi-vendor physical, virtual and software defined network devices. NCX ML2 plug-in makes these network services available to OpenStack users by converting OpenStack neutron requests into NCX network service APIs. Anuta ML2 plug-in allows customers to integrate their legacy as well as new infrastructures with OpenStack’s self-service framework.

NFV Support: NCX 4.0 introduces support for ETSI NFV (Network Function Virtualization) use cases such as Virtual CPE, Virtual MPLS backbone, Edge networks, Virtual Data Center. NCX delivers the MANO functionality in the ETSI NFV architecture and supports on-demand service chaining of L4-L7 VNFs including Brocade Vyatta, Cisco CSR1000v and Nexus 1000v, VMware DVS, Citrix NetScaler VPX, F5 BIG-IP, Juniper vSRX, Juniper Firefly, Radware ADC-VX and Riverbed Steelhead WAN optimization.

YANG Modeling Support: NCX 4.0 supports IETF YANG based data models. Customers and partners can extend the YANG- based device and service models to rapidly customize the NCX deployments.

Other major announcements included Cisco’s software, “ONE enterprise suite”. Read more.

All in all we had a great time and spoke to many great people and were very impressed with the quality of the conversations. We look forward to the next Cisco Live event in Europe!!!– Kate Garrison, Feb 12th, 2015.
