When it rains, it pours. No, we aren’t talking about the occasional inclement weather in Portland. We are referring to the massive momentum behind OpenStack. Nearly 3000 cloud computing professionals from all over the globe visited the 2013 Summit and we were there!
We showcased our Quantum plug-in for nCloudX. With the Quantum plug-in, OpenStack customers can now orchestrate L2-L7 network services on their existing best-of-breed multi-vendor network.
Developers commented that nCloudX service chaining shows a great path for Quantum evolution. Customers, on the other hand, were impressed with nCloudX’s capacity and resource optimization capabilities. Some of them even scheduled deep-dive meetings on the same day.
The classroom style sessions were great. We learned a lot about the Quantum roadmap and Horizon customization. Large companies such as IBM, HP and Red Hat announced their plans for OpenStack support. Cisco demonstrated their Quantum plug-ins for the Nexus platform. Rackspace, one of the original founders of OpenStack, hosted a fantastic party.
The Summit event was well-organized and enabled quality conversations with global cloud professionals. We look forward to attending OpenStack Summit 2014!
